It's time to get personal.

Sometimes in our lifes we have to go through things to test our strengths and the person we are. I'm sure everyone has been through something that has made them think "Why Me?"

I would like to think I am a wonderful mother, loving wife and awesome friend. Sometimes I know this can not be true. I yell at my kids. I "bitch" at my husband and I don't always make time to see my friends.

When I am in a relationship though, whether it be marriage or friendship I truly try to give it my all... As long as I feel as I am getting it in return.

My parents got divorced when I was 2. My "Sperm Donor" ask like to call him got to see me every Wednedsay and every other weekend. As I got older the Wednesdays stopped because it was "too inconvenient" to pick me up and see me.

When I turned 16 he told me that I could now drive to see him, instead of him picking me up because I had my own car. So I did, but as the months went on the time spent over by him was not the greatest. It wasn't quality time. He had a son that was much younger and all the time was spent on him.

I decided that I would just go once a month. Well I'm not sure what happened... but when I was 18 I called him on Christmas to say Merry Christmas and I never got a call back. I called again on New Years to say Happy New Year. Never heard back.

That is the last time I tried to contact them. That was 15 years ago. It's just a shame that your own blood can't call you back.  My mom remarried a man when I was about 14 I think. He adopted me and I took his last name. He is my Father.

I've learned a lot from this and its made me the women I am today. The way I act in relationships and the way I treat my friends. I believe if you really want that person as a lover or a friend you will make the time to be in their life. You WILL make the effort and you will do everything in your power to show them that you love them.

I could go on but I would like to just say. If you have a friend or lover or a family member that you truly love and care for you will make an effort to show them that love. PERIOD. All others are not worth your time.
